The dogs have taken to staying indoors as well. They go outside for a brief business moment and then they are right back inside. Who can blame them? Even the insects have taken to staying indoors. I found this Katydid resting on my cookbooks. Apparently, I need to dust them.
The heat is even taking a tole on the wildflowers.
It's hot here, too...low 100's We have an abundance of frogs this year...wonder why.
ReplyDeleteHi - I found your blog from Sandra's Thistle Cove Farm. I live in Lexington KY, and am soon moving to Casey Co (Liberty), and am now looking for a place to rent in the country. I've made a few contacts, and hope to rent a one-room cabin, with loft, from a Mennonite family. Will find out more about that next week, I hope. Good to see another transplant southern-gal in blog-world. Just thought I'd stop by and say Hello. Take care, from Lexington.
ReplyDeleteIt has cooled off here since last week when it was 105. Now we are sitting in the 80's which is unusual for this time of year. I don't even have the AC on and the front door is open....I'm happy with this crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteIt's real hot here in Japan, hottest summer for 100 years or something. The top recorded temperature so far has been 38.9degrees Celsius or 102F
ReplyDeleteThankfully I live by the sea so it is a tad cooler here but still hawt!!
Linda - Whew, I would still have to have some AC on in the house.
ReplyDelete88 and beautiful in Belfast and Camden... warm but with a cooling breeze off the water. More humid tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBirdman - I have to say that it could be 110 degrees in Belfast and I could still enjoy being there!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hawt here, too! The humidity makes it even worse. We have a lot of butterflies this summer, too. They just love my butterfly bushes!
ReplyDeleteyes, it's so hot - we awoke to the sun being clouded by the thick heat of haze - it's already 80 this morning - that's just hot -
ReplyDeleteHawt! Hawt! Hawt! I agree! The last couple of days have been a little better here in Western KY but not much! Checking out your blog! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYes, unfortunately the temperature has been very close to yours lately. I think the entire eastern half of North America is being challenged!
ReplyDeleteIt's hot here too. Around 100, but I'm sure we don't have the humidity you do. But I would take the heat to be in Kentucky. Your pictures are gorgous despite the heat.
ReplyDeleteIt's very hot and very humid here in Ohio! ugh. I feel like summer is passing me by while I sit in the AC! But it's miserable out of doors!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean-
ReplyDeleteI live in South Texas, an d we're happy if it's in the 90s.
Thanks so much for coming by my blog.
I appreciate it so much.
